Paget's disease is an intraepithelial
adenocarcinoma
appearing in the nipple-areola complex or in its extramammary form in
anatomical
areas abundant with apocrine sweat glands. Location in the inguinal
region is exclusive,
with no involvement of other areas, is rare and difficult to clinically
diagnose.
We report the case of a 72 year old man with a lesion, of an uncertain
time evolution,
in the right groin and with a history of Chagas disease, arterial
hypertension,
2 cerebrovascular events (strokes) and anticoagulation with warfarin,
and in
whom diagnosis of extramammary Paget's disease (EMPD) is confirmed.
Se confirmaron 317 casos de onicomicosis por
mohos no
dermatofitos en 196 mujeres y 121 hombres, con edad promedio de 43
años. El
27,5 % de ellos tenía antecedentes de enfermedades
sistémicas como
insuficiencia vascular, hipotiroidismo, diabetes
mellitus y psoriasis. El factor predisponente
más relevante fue el hábito de caminar y tomar
duchas sin utilizar calzado. La
presentación clínica más frecuente fue
la onicomicosis subungular distal y
lateral, y los principales hallazgos semiológicos fueron
cromoniquia,
paquioniquia y onicolisis. El moho no dermatofito aislado con mayor
frecuencia
fue N. dimidiatum, seguido por Fusarium spp.
There were 317 confirmed cases of
non-dermatophyte
mold onychomycosis (NDM)
in 196 women
and 121 men with a mean age of 43 years. 27.5% of them had a history of
systemic diseases such as vascular insufficiency, hypothyroidism,
diabetes
mellitus and psoriasis. The most important predisposing factor was the
habit of
walking and showering without the use of footwear. The most common
clinical
presentation was distal and lateral subungual onychomycosis, and the
main
semiological findings were cromoniquia, pachyonychia and onycholysis.
Non-dermatophyte
molds most frequently isolated were N. dimidiatum, followed by Fusarium
spp.
